The Happy Prince

"'I am covered with gold," says the prince. 'Take it off and give it to the poor people.' The Swallow takes off all the gold and the Happy Prince is dull and grey. He brings the gold to the poor. Now the children laugh and play games in the street. 'We can buy bread now!' they say."

Even though he is a statue, he has an own mind as us. In fact, he is sorry for people who have difficulties making a living. One day, a swallow which is flying over the city arrives at the feet of him. The swallow is surprised because the Happy Prince is crying. He asks the swallow to help poor people by sacrificing parts of his body. Ruby is for a mother of the son who is suffering from serious disease and sapphires are for a writer of plays and a match girl. As they help many people, they get weaker because of the hard work.
Can they help all poor people? How do they end their lives?
I was moved by their kindness. Do I help people without any hesitation, if they have troubles in front of me? Maybe I cannot do so now, but I have to be strong like them! In our literature circle, one of the members asked one question, "What is true happiness for you?" I could not answer at the time. True happiness for meis to live following my mind!
