Emil and the Detectives

"Later that afternoon, Mrs Fisher had another surprise. She was sitting on the train and a man opposite her was reading a newspaper. Suddenly she saw something on the front page. 'That's my son!' she cried, pointing to a photograph of Emil."

EMIL AND THE DETECTIVES PGRN3』|感想・レビュー - 読書メーター
Emil has never traveled alone before but this time, he tries to travel to his grandmother's house alone for the first time. His mother gives seventy pounds to him. It is a lot of money for them because Emil's father was dead and his mother works hard every day. Unfortunately, a big trouble happens, while he was sleeping on the train. The precious money is stolen by some one. Emil begins to cry, thinking of his mothers hard work. Then, a suspect occurs to his mind. He decides to tail a strange man who wears a black hat. He was sitting near him on the train.
Emil is brave and clever because he tries to catch the thief without calling the police. In addition to this, I was moved by his behavior of appreciating his mother.
