Washington Square

"Catherine looked across the room at Morris. 'He is very handsome,' she thought. And at the moment, Morris turned away from Mrs Penniman and looked towards her."

Catherine and her father live together in Washington Square and her mother was dead. He worried that she cannot marry because she is not beautiful and clever. One day, she joined a party and met a handsome man, Morris Townsend.  After she fell in love with him, she introduces him to her father but he does not like her boyfriend because he does not have any jobs and enough money. In addition to this, he suspects that the true purpose is their money. To make matters worse, Morris gets angry at his bad behavior and leaves there. Then, her father takes her to a trip so that she can forget him but she thinks of him whole day.
This story makes me sorrow because her love for him is pure. please try to read.
