The Book of Heroic Failures

"The largest number of prisoners ever to escape at the same time from a special prison for dangerous criminals is 124. This record belongs to Alcoente Prison, near Lisbon in Portugal."

      Today, I'm going to talk about "The Book of Heroic Failures." This book has a lot of short story, so you can enjoy the book if you do not have enough free time. Any way, I am going to introduce one of them.
     The title is "The Worst Prison Guards."  In July 1978 the prison guards notices that some prisoners are not there and 220 knives disappears from the kitchens. In addition to this, there are holes in the wall and they are covered with paper. Prisoners also had tools to escape but guards did not know it. The night before the escape, one guard realizes there are only 13 men instead of  36. However, it is not surprising because they usually come back in the morning. Will they come back?
      I did not expect the reason why the guards could not find prisoners to escape. The ending was interesting.
